Comparison of the 1555 Vienna - and the 1557 Utrecht - edition by Guillaume Thonnaz 2004 Remark: This comparison is only possible for the 353 verses of the first edition, but there are all the verses of the 1557 edition includet. On the title-page of the 1557 edition figures prominently the sentence known from the 1568 edition: "Dont il en y à trois cents ...". If it is written correctly here or only later I cannot judge and must leave it to the French colleagues. I also cannot comment on the many modifications of "és" and "ds" to "ez" and "dz", because I do not know at which time this spelling has changed. It is remarkable though, that in the 1557 edition there are far more "spelling mistakes" as in other editions. In any case here one tried to change the "old" spelling into a "new" form and letters that maybe have been left out "consciously" in the 1555 edition have been introduced here. Also is here for the first time at C.I.1 the word "proferer" replaced by "prosperer" and the latin so-called "anathema" is printed for the first time. The differences are marked in bold, but I cannot guarantee that all mistakes have been indicated, also differences in punctuation have not been marked.
